Seeking World MoralitySince globalization and the concept of a 'world morality' are such hot topics with the increase of global communication, especially in the global cohort, I wrote this introduction to ponder the question: Is a world ethical standard even possible? This paper is also part of a larger group of papers, with anecdotal evidence from around the world, that go on to try and answer this question.

Language Acquisition Paper As a study on grammar and language accusation that I developed I took a look at texting slang and computer slang in regard to foreign language speakers and native speakers in the college community. I also studied how these subjects relate to this slang and accept their slang usage. I feel this study revels a lot about the importance of stressing the spelling and grammatical differences between text slang and academic english; most college students I interviewed were aware of the differences. Therefore, we can assume, though this study is small and in a college environment, that high school students minds are not damaged by texting.

Placement Observation PapersSome of the most important work I did as a preservice teacher was in observing trained professionals, their students, and learning the difference between education theory and practice. These observations helped shape my own teaching philosophy and led me discover new and exciting ideas about the field of teaching. These two papers, though about different locations, focus on more a more general, anecdotal reflection process rather than a blow by blow.

Writing In Schools: An Observation PaperThis paper is an observation of the process taken in a local Lansing high school to teach and write an argumentative paper compared with the process outlined by Smagorinsky in his Dynamics of Writing Instruction. It discusses the many problems the students encounter while writing and the options for teachers while trying to scaffold paper writing. Most importantly it discusses the all important issues of front loading and student interest.
