Ways I love to Spend My Extra Time:
Sigma Delta Tau
The E-Board I was on from '10-'11
As an active alumni of a newly recolonized sorority I have spent a lot of my time dedicating myself to rebuilding my chapter. The sisterhood I have found at Sigma Delta Tau was more than rewarding. The women of MSU Beta Beta are some of the most amazing ladies I have ever met and I feel honored to have led, struggled, and celebrated my college years with them.
Photography
One of the pictures from my double exposure portfolio
I've been told that even as a toddler it was impossible to separate me from my camera. In high school when I was offered photography classes I shined, ending my senior year in AP photography with a gold key winning portfolio. Photography has stayed with me as a major influence in my life especially on my travels. I took this particular picture because I was captain of my high school girls ice hockey team and we were often looked at as 'masculine' however, most of us were very feminine. The double exposure shows how playing ice hockey made some girls feel like they had to compensate by wearing heels and make-up to practice.
Reading!
As an English major I can't help but love to read for fun! My grandfather, mother, and brother all love to trade books with me. I also have a book club with my friends that meets every two weeks. I especially love to read books that I do not agree with because it is always interesting to know what other people are thinking--I never know when I might read one that changes my mind! : )
